The Power from my Sponsors to Conquer JIRA Cases

Today's devotion is on John 19:30 ... when Jesus had received the vinegar, He said: "It is finished." And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit."

He died in order to restore that which was lost in the Garden of Eden: men living in fellowship with God.

Because He is our sponsor, He did not forget to send the Holy Spirit to work side by side with us day by day.

Translating to my focus on JIRAs this quarter, I see several sponsors: Sponsor in Chief, a plan-of-record sponsor Mark Guzzi who made the commitment to Torrie, and a mentor sponsor Azzedine.

There is also a customer sponsor who created the JIRAs: Steve Halter.

There are other stakeholder sponsors: Suresh B and Chris Henroid.

I'm at Sunday services for Youth 4S church, we sung about these verses: Romans 5:2-4.
I rejoice in suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

Three Steps For Each JIRA

After yesterday's JIRA review with Mark Guzzi and Balaji Sundar., I recognized that I have not taken JIRAs  seriously. I have an attitude problem, as I wrote on Wisdom For Today's note space.

Today's devotion is: Pray, Reason and Commit.

Why not applying these steps to the JIRAs?

In 4S Church Youth services, listening to Lynn Floto preaching.

  • Romans 15:2: Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory.
  • Romans 15:3: We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. The endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.

Two Insights

Today's devotion is "fault finders vs. healers".

I believe I have been gifted to become insightful in:

  1. Insightful in fighting depression. When I fight depression with other people, I feel connected to a purpose.
  2. Insightful also in the apparent chaos of system SW. When I architect, I feel His joy.

Re-newed contacts

After I got to work this morning, I found a Skype message from Shuyi: she had switched to using her account not my in-laws!

That is why I lost contact yesterday.

When I studied "Wisdom for Today" at night, I re-confirmed the message from 2011: there is a hidden sin no one knows about but me. My pride about people I work with.

I wrote the same comment, the same day 2011, and 2012.

Eric Liddell said: (page 70 of "Complete Surrender"):

  • Quiet morning prayer.
  • Expectation that the Bible has a message for me that can be applied to my life day by day.

How I wish I had read it in the morning, not at night. Would have made a different attitude out of me when I was in Trevor's office.

No contact with shuyi

she is visiting kending with the kids and inlaws. i miss them.  pray hard for their wellbeing, spiritual strength.

prayer list

This morning I got up 6:15am. Read one chapter of "Complete Surrender".

Prayers:

  1. Find a suitable topic for the small group.
  2. Find a way to move the refrigerator from Andorra to Indigo, as is expected of me.
  3. Put a plan together to connect the strawman vision to daily life of mine.

Speech Outline: Harness the Power of Vision

I am preparing for a 10 minutes speech, and 2nd run of my last speech entitled "Your Child Needs An Uplifting Vision".

1. Hook: the story: I could see every detail of my highshool graduation and college entrance. 1974 study by Benjamin Singer.    (2 minutes).
2. Book/Theme: Isaiah 40:60, the vision by Eric Liddell: God made me for a purpose, he called me to China, he also made me fast, when I run, I feel His joy.    (3 minutes).
3. Look: Power: 1) Spur sacrificial action 2) Unleash creative imagination 3) Inspire courageous choicion

Liddell harnessed the power of this vision, 1) train the body and the soul 2) team up with his Sponsor so he has no doubts 3) make decisions with perspective.
a complete surrender via daily devotion, self examination.  (2 minutes)
4. Took: you and I can harness the power of vision. 1) dream big. 2) connect to the here and now.  3) role model.    Example:     God called me to fight depressions with friends, he also made me insightful in system software, when I architect, I can get a glimpse of Him smiling.  (3 minutes).

Why I Joined Choir

About a year ago I joined church choir as a tenor. Why?

Today I came across the best way to summarize the reaon, as "To take a trip", a trip to a better place.

Nothing can be more uplifting from Congo than this piece "Carmina Burana" from the 60 minutes program tonight:

Power of Vision, the 1st Youth Worship Message I Gave

After several dryruns and modifcations, I did it and I enjoyed the process to spoke to the 4S Church youth on "Power of Vision", based on 1 Samuel 40:31 "They who trust the Lord will soar with Eagle's Wings", drawing examples from Eric Liddell's life, his touching legacy in 1924 Paris Olympics and his 20 years in China Mission.

This is my very first Youth worship sermon.

It is based on this speech practice I gave to the Wed Sorrento Valley Fellowship.

I originally developed the sermon on "Gardener In Training" based on Genesis 2 and 3, after reading "Gift of Work". Brothers Woody Floto and George Chu gave me great help and dry-run opportunities.

I changed to "Power of Vision" because 1) I wanted to connect to the 2012 Olympics 2) GIT is about the purpose of work and school. I could not find a simple yet central message out of it.

Feedback from Tracy my daughter is:
It connected with me, but a bit long, and slightly repetitious.

Yes, I spent about 45 to 50 minutes.
Next challenge: condense to 10 minutes, for the 2nd run at the SV fellowship.

The Setbacks Quickly Turned into Blessings

Tuesday Aug 31 conversation about the purpose of work revealed what is hidden inside: my big ego. I craved the principle title as evidenced in the fleudian slip with George Chu.
This defect and disease in me caused me to cry for and seek devine help, and my faithful Lord answered my prayer. I had a very productive session presenting at the wed prayer group.
Ling callled me with an amazing event where her coworker quit, her boss assigned her to take over the job she craved for at least 6 month.
She called me immediately with a heart of gratefulness.
