The Call

From reading of the Recovery Version 1 Corin 10:6, now tjose OT things occur as examples to us that we should not be ones who lust after evil things even as they also lusted.

The calling to OT people was to enter and enjoy the promised land.

The goal of nt calling is to enter into possession of our good land, Christ, Phil 3:12-14. Enjoy His riches for the kingdom of God that we may be his expression in the present age. To participate in the fullest enjoyment of Christ in the Kingdom. Age Matt 25:21.

The murmuring Num 16:41 of the Israelites typified the negative speaking of the present generation. The perished by the destroyr.

Atonement

My old sin ravaged my inner world, sin of omission and transgression on YouTube using others.

How I struggle: the bad I did not want to do, I did. This body lead me to old leaven.
This verse from 1 Coronthians 5:7 was speaking to my dilemma last night.

No doubt he is watching me, using morning devotion to warn me against the old leaven.

Profession Dilemma: Is working with partial knowledge acceptable?

Post based on the sharing on 9/11. Sorrento Valley Fellowship Professional Dilemma Series V:
Profession Dilemma: Is working with partial knowledge acceptable?

What is knowledge?

Knowledge is a “justified true belief”.
i.                     Empirical knowledge: knowledge belief true based on an experience or perception.
ii.                   Analytical knowledge: knowledge based on reasoning.
iii.                  Value-judgment knowledge: you believe something is true basing yourself on moral and ethical values.
iv.                 Spiritual knowledge: you believe something is true basing yourself on personal encounters with things in the Spiritual realm, such as your convictions of the authenticity of the Scriptures.

Question: In the professional setting, what kind of knowledge is relevant?

What is partial knowledge?

Some examples:
i.                     Empirical knowledge becomes insufficient when given a forward looking project.
ii.                   Analytical knowledge becomes insufficient when you are tasked to construct the analytical model for a new SOC consisting of billions of gates.
iii.                  Ethical knowledge becomes fuzzy when a behavior is motivated by conflicting goals.
iv.                 As humans, our spiritual knowledge is by definition incomplete while this side of heaven.

1 Corinthians 13:12 (The Message) has a vivid description: We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

How do people behave given partial knowledge?

i.             Too gullible: blindly charge ahead, unaware of the risk.
ii.            Too doubtful: overly cautious, unable to decide until partial knowledge becomes full knowledge.
iii.           Just right: navigate wisely in partial knowledge environment.

How to navigate wisely in a partial knowledge work place?

Manage uncertainty. Be mentally prepared if things do go your way.
4:16: 16
Believe nothing can separate you from the love of God.

George made improve over the CLIMB principles:

Consult God first.
Let wise men be your advisors.
Include others in the process of navigating the web of partial information.
Manage uncertain outcome.
Believe nothing can separate you from the love of God.

I'm also reading The Power of Positive Thinking  by Norman Peale.

Chapter 6:  page 108. The above experience certainly counts towards the list of times in my life when I have been conscious of God's watchful care.

  • 5. Make a mental list of times in your life when you have been conscious of God's watchful care and recall how, when you were worried and anxious, He brought things out right and took care of you. Then recite aloud this line from an old hymn, "So long Thy power hath kept me, sure it STILL will lead me on."

What about my other worry, the one related to m500-m16 performance? Will he also lead me on?

This is the high time to get on my knees to pray.

1st Presentation Makeover Sunday Workshop

Today I read: "at times when I failed miserably I have thought : 'when will I ever learn? I have blown it again.'"

But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. It is often in that place of misery and self contamination that God chooses to do something new for me beyond my dreams. I can't help but respond with: "Oh 主我愛你

Reflections on Recent Events

Our team's hard work has begun to pay off, including more visible achievements and advances.

As AT predicted, ISTARI 往后推。
It was wise for me to filter out the noise and focus on closing issues while building up competency.

Lesson: let go and let God: do what has been assigned to me.

Keys to decision making in the faith of Partial Info: Did not doubt the promises in unbelief, but was empowered by faith

Romans 4:20,21 (Recovery Version)

20 But with regard to the promise of God, he did not doubt in unbelief, but was empowered by faith, giving glory to God
21 And being fully persuaded that awhat He had promised He was able also to do.

The keys to Abramham's faith:

  1. Did not limit God's ability to override human difficulty
  2. Did not waver at any of God's promises.
  3. Gave glory to God: praised God even before seeing any evidence that God would keep His promise.
    1. Faith believes that God is able to perform whatever He has promised.

The verses above ties into my talk this Wed at Sorrento Valley Salt and Light:

5 secretes of Decision making with partial information: CLIMB
  1. Consult wise associates and spouse: "shoulder check my blind spots"
  2. Let go of the result: focus on being the best you can be, filter out the Nay sayers and the FUD. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst (Esther: if I perish, I perish.)
  3. Include the stake holders in the process
  4. Manage strong emotions especially emotional scars from the past:  fear not, trust the Lord alone is sufficient
  5. Believe in your vision: be yourself, let your experienced insight  be your guide  (engineering discernment): Abraham did not doubt God's promises.
